Tool Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY
A currently enrolled student at a community college or trade school. Area of study is: Auto Technology, Auto Mechanics, Diesel Tech, Collision Program or a Skilled Trade Program (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing or Construction), at either a trade school or community college. Consideration will be based on financial need, academic achievement, and community service record/extracurricular activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Post-secondary GPA of 2.5 or higher
Enrollment in one of the following areas of study Auto Technology, Auto Mechanic, Diesel, Collision Program or Skilled Trade Program (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction etc.)
Completed scholarship application
2 letters of recommendation
Official post-secondary transcript
Completed essay (see below for details)
Listing of extracurricular/volunteer activities (if applicable).
ESSAY GUIDELINES
Essay length 400 – 500 words, double spaced.
Essay Topic: How would you benefit from a tool scholarship? Why? Be sure to include your area of study.
AMOUNT
$2,000 will be awarded for tools. Most community colleges have a discount with Snap-On Tools. This will make the scholarship go even further!
OTHER SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
If you are chosen as the recipient, we will work with your college, and your program director on the procedure for ordering tools with your scholarship.
APPLICATION PERIOD
OPENS: September 1, 2022 **CLOSES: March 17, 2023
Award announcements will be made by April 28, 2023.
**The Closed Date is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted. If applying by mail The Hourglass Foundation will use the postmarked date to determine mailed entries. Please submit applications by March 17, 2023. If you are mailing your application please send to:
