SCHOLARSHIP NAME

“More than one Path” Scholarship, sponsored by The Hourglass Foundation.

ELIGIBILITY

A U.S. graduating high school senior or an individual with a GED certificate who is continuing their education at either a trade school or community college program with focus on Auto Tech, Engineering Tech or Skilled Trade Programs (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Construction). Consideration will be given to financial need, academic achievement, community service record/extracurricular activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum high school GPA of 2.5.

  • Enrollment in one of the following areas of study Auto Technology, Auto Mechanic, Engineering Tech or Skilled Trade Program (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Construction etc.)

  • Completed scholarship application

  • 1 letter of recommendation

  • Official school transcript

  • Completed essay (see below for details)

  • Listing of extracurricular/volunteer activities (if applicable).

ESSAY GUIDELINES

Essay length 400 – 500 words, double spaced.

Essay Topics – (Choose one)

  • Why have you chosen this career (state area of study) and what are your goals?
  • What constitutes a successful life and why?

AMOUNT

$1,500 will be paid annually and is designated toward tuition and fees. The scholarship winner will have their school’s financial aid office contact The Hourglass Foundation and verify the following:

  1. Confirmation of enrollment via letter or email on the school’s official letterhead.
  2. Email or letter should include: Payment address and contact name in the financial aid office, along with phone number and email address.

DEADLINE

The application deadline has been extended to April 30, 2020.
The scholarships will be awarded by June 1, 2020.

The deadline is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted. If applying by mail The Hourglass Foundation will use the postmarked date to determine mailed entries. Please submit applications by March 31, 2020. If you are mailing your application please send to:
